Yesterday, Rachel had just enough unsupervised time with the markers to accomplish this. She was quite proud of the artwork she created on her own arms.
Sara took this picture as I was helping to restore Rachel to her normal purple-free state, intending to document Rachel's beautiful creation.
What I want to know is this: What is happening to the hair on my head?

We love you just as you are, even if some of you is disappearing! And I don't know if you have heard Mark Harris' song "Windows and Walls" - but if not, you have got to get this one. The story behind it is right on target with your marker experience!
I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry!
Rick: Thanks for the song recommendation -- I'll check it out! And how come you're older than me and you still have a full head of hair? Come to think of it, so does your Dad!
Songbird: Neither am I!
Awww! How adorable! (Rachel, of course...not your head ;-) )
at least it wasn't permanent marker. You know they have spray that you put on your scalp that makes the missing hair less noticable. LOL
Lisa: Thank you so much for that very helpful suggestion! I'm definitely going to invest in some of that spray, because I'm sure it's not obvious to ANYONE when someone is wearing that stuff... LOL
Have you thought about letting her play with a brown or black marker while you take a nap???? It might serve her creative streak and your concern as well!
Dave, you're brilliant! Thanks for the helpful suggestion!
I can't resist any longer...
Maybe you should change the words to one of Rachel's favorite songs and make it a family mantra...I can hear her now...
"Oh, where has daddy's hair gone?
Oh, where has daddy's hair gone?
Oh where, oh where, oh where oh where oh whhheeerrrrreee.....
Has daddy's hair gone?"
